Gabriele Jutz was a Professor of Film Studies at the Department of Media Theory at the University of Applied Arts Vienna until 2024. She earned her MA and PhD from the University of Salzburg, and her Diplôme d’études approfondies (DEA) in film studies from Université Sorbonne Nouvelle – Paris 3. She was a Visiting Professor in Film Studies at Johann Wolfgang von Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt am Main and at Freie Universität Berlin. She has lectured on film and media studies at the Universities of Vienna, Salzburg, Graz, and Danube University Krems, as well as at numerous international conferences.
